VIZIO XVT3D554SV 55-inch 1080p 480Hz 3D LED HDTV with Full Array TruLED, Smart Dimming and VIZIO Internet Apps
The 2D image here is very strong, almost as loudly. Remember when you moved from SD to HD, and all kinds of TV suddenly seemed ... wrong? As if the sets were not simply counting HD? The picture here is so clear, so deep and so high contrast colors that can have that experience again. Sometimes it seems as if the images are 3D in 2D. Compared to my previous games, is very confusing.
I made some changes in the review of the issues and conclusions.
Calibration
As usual, the outside of the box settings tend to favor a look that could give you a tan. However, the default "movie" tones things a lot (and looks a lot like what I have, after hours of calibration, making it possible to save the effort and just make a quick selection, assuming All these things come from the same box). Technically, the output modes of the box all appear to be a bit like a "hot" side, then you need to cool the image a bit, if you want the values of textbooks, but I think the picture a bit as hotter the better. Somehow (although I know better) seem more realistic.
Display Brightness
The screen is bright. That's right. I found that does not cause a problem during the day because of the inherent brightness of all lighting shrugs distributed sources reflected (not put me in direct sunlight, but not advisable for most games). And, of course, the set looks great in a dark room. However, if you sit down and have some lights in front of her at night, can be reflected. Some thoughts even give an effect, prismatic diffusion can be a distraction. No big deal. It does not take on the appearance of some screens mirror. However, it is visible and may need to rearrange your whole position or lighting.
Remote
The sliding keyboard remote control works reasonably well, but has a list of problems. First, it is not on, and a remote control that this complex is a real problem if you are using to replace the cable box or DVD remote control. You'll find lots of tiny buttons, many almost flush with the case, it can be done by touch. The slide-out alphanumeric keyboard is good to enter the information needed to access the Netflix or browse the clips, but a Tweet refers to the biggest thing you can write comfortably. The management of multiple devices at once clever and annoying. The remote device associated with each entry to the TV. So if you tell HDMI-1 is your satellite receiver and HDMI-2 is the blueray player that (after proper configuration) change the function of remote control to the appropriate device when you switch the input. However, getting control of a different device, without changing the input (if, for example, has all the devices running through a receiver) is clearly much less manipulated.
3D
At first, I was having problems with DirectTV to recognize this set as 3D and kept getting the "Your TV 3D is not consistent with this resolution." This seems to have been resolved, and now I can watch football matches and re-runs of old shoes waiting for more content in 3D, along with others. The 3D depth is good - equal to the apparent depth in the Samsung X500, which is the best I've ever seen. However, there is no apparent way to use 3D images in 2D, but a trick, a trick is very useful when you want to see "Rain of Meatballs" for the 20th time just to see some 3D.
USB
I have not seen any videos of the USB ports. I downloaded a clip in 3D on a flash drive unless it is presented as a test of Samsung. Although there are three USB ports, none of them seem to recognize the clip (or better, even to respond to insert the flash drive)
The 2D image quality
I'm still very taken with the 2D image. Even the neighbors were not impressed with Vizio previous games are excited about this. Deep blacks, nice color saturation (the initial setup is a bit on the warm side ... but I think I like a lot). The brightness and contrast a wide range and down to the "torch" that many stores seem to like it. If you think that looks good on the platform of MegaMart, looks even better on the wall at home.
I've raised my rating a star after two weeks of having the whole. I still love that comes with a remote better, but now everything is calibrated and connected to my system, I have much to complain about.
Samsung UN46D8000 46-Inch 1080p 240Hz 3D LED HDTV (Silver)
I wanted to give this TV a glowing review, after all, has some of the latest LED technology and style is a trend. After a week with this TV, I'm not satisfied with the "Samsung Experience". Let me get this off my chest first. Any time an event like a county fair, at first, if not all the rides and attractions are open? you're excited because it seems it can be fun, but it is a little early for the full experience. Well, that's how I feel about this TV. First, the 3D glasses that supposedly come with this TV were not the case. Instead, there is a bond can be sent, or go online to (I did). After a week and no answer, I called to find out why the delay. I was told to read the fine print of the voucher, who said there was a wait of 10 to 12 weeks for the glasses. Not good. Secondly, I found a problem with the remote, which is not a fun thing to have in your hand. It's kind of short and wide, with two sides. One side has a QWERTY keyboard for text entry, and a pointer to the touch. I think the up, down, right, controls the left does not work properly with my unit and asked for support to this report. They seemed very interested in the subject and said she would call back in 45 minutes (after the creation of a test unit) for more information. He was not called again. Another reviewer mentioned the difficulty of matching the remote to the TV via Bluetooth. I also thought it was a problem and not always easy to do.
Samsung has incorporated a feature called Smart Hub in its "intelligent television. This is a portal that has Netflix, Vimeo, YouTube, Facebook, Pandora, a web browser, and various games and applications that are free or pay. The action is good and I'm looking forward to seeing its development. You need to register your TV and create an account, like an Apple ID before you can buy any of the applications. Think you could do it from the TV, but can not, must go online to do this. no big deal, but it was confusing. The Samsung website is not ready for prime time as well. The discussion forum is not working yet. An interesting thing is Live Help, which works very well. However, it was not able to get the level of support needed.
Ok, enough complaints. This is good television. It is very light, has a narrow profile and includes a good support, chromium that lets you turn the TV around 30 degrees in either direction. A very important factor for me was the slim body, which allowed me to put a 46 "in my September 43" cabinet width. The TV has many inputs, including some weird connectors that allow you to connect components and composite video. I have a DVD player that uses HDMI not component connectors, and it worked well. The TV setup is not difficult if you have any experience with the connections, and I was able to get all the components and work my receiver soon. As mentioned earlier, I'm not a big fan of how the remote, and I'm trying to duplicate most of the features of my Harmony universal remote control.
One thing I did was connect my iMac to my TV to display images from my photography club. I did not expect the quality is better than my iMac 27 ", but was much better. Natural color film mode, the establishment of a warm up. The clarity was great. I saw no artifacts on the screen and intrusive was happy as a blow to the amazing image quality of my photo (as members of the club). The TV is connected to our system Uversa and HD quality is very good. I have no measuring tools or calibration but I have a good eye for photography color balance, contrast and sharpness are excellent All I need to get a handle on "Cine Mode" which can see the modern family in a strange experience.;. almost makes some programs seem to have been filmed as a novel. I leave it 'off' this feature for now. Tonite was the 10 Commandments (1956), and the quality was amazing! I still have not seen a Blue Ray DVD, as I have not bought one player yet. And of course I have no 3D glasses. How I can upgrade my plan to review how things change.
This TV is worth at least a rating of 4 stars. ¿I can add another, depending on how things develop.
Update 06/08/2011
Finally I have my 3D glasses in the Compliance Center "Samsung." Active shutter glasses are standard and come with USB cables for charging. You can connect the cables in the back of the unit and glasses recharges when the power is on. We have seen our 3D movie together for the first time last night. The 3D effect is excellent and I saw no artifacts. The fit over my glasses and comfortable. That turn on automatically when it detects a transmission in 3D, which is good.
The bulk distance is usually only waiting to be used as programming a Harmony universal remote control that allows me to use and control functions SmartHub. SmartHub still evolving and there are many update messages indicating that is constantly updated. I like Vimeo sites and Vudu, and Netflix. The browser, gamed and other applications are not attractive to me yet.
I continue to praise the image quality on this set. I can not say is better than a Sony or Panasonic or other brand, but I have no reason to look further. I can only describe the quality of high definition as "rich" and full tone. The shadow detail that surprises me, and blacks are really black. We never found the image of being too contrasting or saturated. I also believe that there is no reason to mess with the controls, because they are defined. After more than a month of view, I still find myself saying 'this is great "when I see high-quality emissions. Again, the use ATT as my provider Uversa cable, and our quality of the signal is very good. I do not expect to buy another TV of this caliber for a long time, and I hope that Samsung will grow with us in the coming years.
Samsung UN55D8000 55-Inch 1080p 240Hz 3D LED HDTV (Silver)
This review is a bit long winded. Go to the end just for the pros and cons. Or, read on to lose 10 minutes of your life.
In the last 5 years I have been using a 58 "Panasonic Plasma TV. Not a bad TV, but not the greatest as well. It was up to 1080i, which was fast enough hot (which made the room warm shooting air conditioning in many times), and the dimensions were rare (I looked at entertainment centers that must conform to the TV 60 ", but the TV does not fit.). I felt an update was in order.
I have to admit, buying a TV was fun. Much work remains. The survey was overwhelming at times. Sites about sites, magazines, books, tickets of different people, vendors try to sell different things depending on what store was so reduced it to one of many HDTVs from Sony or Samsung Series C or D. After restricting its scope to the two types, it was a little easier. I was about 4 Fry Electronics different and seven different Best Buy to check in different situations. After that, until UN55D8000 (boy, I remember the numbers). To make the decision easier, I was looking on Amazon, and to my surprise they had for $ 500 less than the others, plus free shipping. Score!
With free shipping, which usually takes a little longer. I would say that from the time of order, until he came to my door, which took about 1.5 weeks. He came home delivered direct U.S. and had no problems with delivery. They were going to set up the TV, but I said no, for my entertainment center had not yet arrived. I opened the box, put the TV on a soft cloth (our bed comforter) and installed the stand. Eight screws, piece of cake. I called DirecTV receiver and a PS3. There are some adjustments that will cost at first, when the TV is on. It takes about 2 minutes, literally. After that, the fun begins! Going from 1080i to 1080p is a huge difference! I had a recording of Chuck on DVR, and almost seemed to live. I also saw some satellite programs and even the regular non-HD channels looked amazing.
After wiping the drool from the ground, I wanted to see the 3D television. I got the free copy of Shrek 3 on PS3, put on his glasses and waited to be surprised. Besides the incredible color, which looked exactly like 2D! WTH? So I remember reading somewhere that the PS3 actually play movies in 3D, but with an update. I waited about 30 minutes for the update to finish. After that, load the DVD again, and there was the movie with this funky 3D image. Hey, wait, I have 3D glasses, as I see it. Oh, sorry. Batteries must be installed in the cups. Finally! The 3D image was amazing! Seriously, watching TV in 3D is incredible. I can not wait until "no more paper in 3D. As it stands now, the only real 3D movie are documentaries or cartoons, except for some movies regularly (ie Resident Evil, Step Up 3, etc. )
I just installed last night, so I can not give you more general information. But even if I had more time, I do not think I can give you detailed specifications may be looking for. I am not an expert in home theater. Here's a rundown of the pros and cons:
PROS:
* The lack of a larger framework that really makes a difference. Not only aesthetically but in terms of functionality, too (better 3D visualization. It seems that you are looking for a window.).
* The images are spectacular. If it's regular programming, HDTV programming or Blu-Ray.
* Price on Amazon was very good!
* The delivery was fast.
Many of the settings *, so you can configure the TV of your choice and the scene of the view (ie a film, series, etc.)
* See the 3D movie is awesome! I just wanted Panasonic does not have exclusive rights to Avatar.
CONS:
* SmartTV is a nice feature. But not a necessity. I really doubt that Facebook Tweet or television.
* Audio is not great but sufficient. I was not really expecting much from a flat screen TV.
* It comes with touch screen remote control, as was supposed to be the case earlier this year.
* Please e-mail receipts (or register online) to get 3D glasses. True, you will receive a starter kit with this 3D TV, which has the glasses, but these glasses are a little different and use batteries. In addition, you must send a free copy of Shrek and Megamind forever. It really does not complain, however, as these are free.
Do you require a more detailed manual on the use of most resources. The manual comes with its thickness, but only because the same thing in different languages.
Sorry for the long review. In yelpers write a bunch of garbage, right?
UPDATE: After playing with the TV a little more this weekend, I noticed that the top of the screen was a little blinking light (about where the screen frame and is approximately 1 / 16 "of high and was almost completely through the TV. I'm hoping is not the "brink of enlightenment.") that only made some DirecTV channels. Most of the channels were fine and Blu-ray was fine. I think it's Once the receiver or, possibly, the cheapest HDMI cable. I have a Monster Cable M1000 series coming later this week, so I update and change of residence.
In addition, there was a conversation around online about people having problems syncing the remote. I had no problems and had about 5 feet from the TV.
One last thing, one of the glasses 3D computer does not seem to work. I changed the batteries and nothing. The next morning, I tried again, this time turning off the bluetooth on the phone and it worked. If this had an effect on him, I dunno. However, just thought I'd throw out there.
Indeed, this weekend, I have seen entangled in 3D MLB2K11 and played on the PS3 ...... WOW! I have to admit, I like 3D, but I thought it was a novelty. No way. 3D is very different now than when we had those red and blue glasses. Change the whole experience.
Update # 2: No need to do something for the line was. He just went away one day.
Also, I finally got the 3D glasses of proof is on TV. Unfortunately, there are the 3,300 3700S kept seeing people at CES. It will not remove the rating, but I'm a little disappointed that the glasses and the remote control that was announced earlier this year did not come with the unit, or even through e-mail. The charger of glasses is $ 199! No thanks. I will read it with the USB cable.
